Deloitte has appointed two Partners within its ranks: Robert Miller, former Partner at Radford, joins the firm's Global Employer Services practice in London, and Nigel Walsh, former Vice President and Head of UK Insurance at Capgemini, joins the firm's Insurance practice, also in London.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Robert Miller worked at Radford, a life science and technology reward consulting company part of Aon, as a Partner and Head of EMEA, and before that he served Aon Hewitt, the HR consulting arm of Aon. Previously, between 2003 and 2005, he worked at EY as a Senior Manager. Earlier in his career, Miller worked at Towers Perrin as a Consultant in executive compensation. Miller holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Newcastle.

Miller has been appointed by Deloitte as a Partner in its Global Employer Services practice. He brings almost 20 years of experience in compensation and rewards to the firm. In his new role, he will be responsible for further developing the firm's profile and expertise in executive remuneration, particularly related to life sciences and TMT companies, with an emphasis on the Nordic region.

Mitul Shah, Head of Reward in Deloitte's Global Employer Services practice, says, "I'm delighted that Robert is joining Deloitte. He built a very successful practice at Radford, advising life sciences and TMT companies on executive pay and sales incentives, primarily in the Nordics, and will be an excellent addition to our existing reward business."

Miller says, "I'm excited by the opportunity and look forward to building our executive reward and sales incentive consulting presence."

Nigel Walsh was formerly Vice President and Head of UK Insurance at Capgemini for more than six years. Working from the firm's London office, he was responsible for building and developing the firm's presence in the Insurance sector. He previously worked at enterprise software company Corizon, from 2008, as a General Manager responsible for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Southern Africa & Southern Region. Earlier in his career, Walsh worked at enterprise software and SaaS vendor Callidus Software, as an Account Executive for the EMEA region, and held various sales and account management roles at KANA since 2001.

Walsh started his career in technology and IT consultancy with Arenson, Comdisco and Servicesoft. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies at the University of Salford and attended the International Business School (IBS) Programme at Capgemini University, Les Fontaines.

Deloitte has appointed Walsh as Partner in the firm's Insurance practice. He will be responsible for leveraging his expertise in insurance technology (InsurTech) to meet growing demand for, among others, digital transformation, cyber security services in the face of increasing menace, operational excellence and working with promising startups.

Scott Wheatley, head of insurance consulting, says, "Nigel brings fantastic experience to Deloitte's insurance team, having been deeply involved in the InsurTech global movement. As a mentor for many startups, including at the StartupBootcamp InsurTech programme, he supports many new companies on how to access and solve business problems across insurance markets. By having Nigel on board, we'll further enhance our InsurTech offering and help companies better use digital applications and integrate current and new core insurance platforms."

Walsh reflects, "Given the scale and volume of investments over the last 12 months alone, the InsurTech movement is at a pivotal place right now as a recognised disruptor to the traditional insurance markets. We're seeing so many exciting developments for the industry, ranging from new distribution and mobile platforms to cyber protection, insuring connected homes to driverless cars – all enabled through a myriad of new technologies including Artificial Intelligence, bots and blockchain. It's never been a more dynamic time for the world of InsurTech and I look forward to being a part of Deloitte's team."
