However, mid-sized and boutique consultancies have taken advantage of the uncertainty of the those that have chosen to put hiring further down their priority list and have been able to attract the better talent without having to compete against a big name or two. All very positive for the market as a whole. January 2018 is going to be a very busy period in the talent world.

Talent Strategy is always going to be research-led but the massive increase in research man-days in the last quarter of the year confirms that the larger firms aren't the only people benefiting from these types of insights.
WHY ARE PEOPLE CHANGING JOBS IN MANAGEMENT CONSULTING?
The order of the reasons hasn't changed much since last quarter's review but the point of interest is that 'more money' is now higher than the last survey, which was 9% higher than the survey before. The graphic below shows the reasons people state when changing jobs (or looking to change jobs). 92% of people provided multiple reasons.

The data below shows the average low and average high salary for each of the roles. Very little movement from the previous month.
The following average bonus payments are made based on the same roles. This is the average bonus payment as a percentage of the base salary. Bonus payments remain relatively static month on month.

The following shows the base salary plus the typical bonus for the roles. This data shows the high and low salary for the role and the average bonus in GBP £ for the same role. It clearly shows the roles the roles at the up end of the career ladder reward more in bonus than base salary at the moment and the entry level roles pay little to no bonus.
