Challenge
A global technology consulting firm that is one of Consulting Point’s most established partners had set out an ambitious plan to expand across the Middle East. As part of this regional growth strategy, they aimed to build a strong leadership team capable of driving business development and delivery excellence across the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
Their immediate priority was to recruit experienced Partners to lead key verticals, particularly in Digital Business Consulting & Technology Innovation, who could operate with agility, cultivate senior relationships, and thrive in a dynamic, scale-up environment.
Given the foundational nature of the team, attracting high-calibre individuals proved challenging, as many were hesitant to leave established practices for what was, in effect, a new market entrant in the region.
Solution
We initiated a targeted executive search and market mapping exercise, focusing on senior-level Partners from top-tier consulting firms with expertise in Digital Transformation and Technology Innovation. Our search centred on individuals with deep public sector networks in the UAE and/or KSA and a proven ability to independently drive client development and growth.
Beyond technical qualifications, we evaluated candidates for their entrepreneurial mindset, cultural adaptability, and alignment with the client’s values and long-term vision. A critical success factor was identifying those who could not only navigate a fast-evolving market but also help shape a new organisational culture.
We ensured these individuals were functionally aligned, driven, and capable of establishing a presence in a competitive market. There are only a finite amount of candidates that could deliver to this brief, so utilising our existing relationships in the region was integral to being able to source the ideal profile.
Result
One of the initial candidates presented was a Partner with almost twenty years of experience at a Big Four advisory firm. She had most recently held the role of Alliance and Partnerships Leader, in addition to overseeing the delivery major technology transformation programmes in the public sector in the UAE. Her market reputation, coupled with a strong personal commitment to culture, diversity, and innovation, made her an immediate standout candidate. What set exceptional talent apart was her entrepreneurial spirit and nuanced understanding of both the regional consulting landscape and the public sector ecosystem.
She was equally drawn to the client’s bold growth agenda, inclusive culture, and strong global brand in technology consulting. As our client was in the initial phase of scaling up their Digital Business Consulting brand in the region, we collaborated closely with the leadership team to provide guidance and to ensure that the entire hiring process was seamless for senior talent, thereby supporting their strategic growth plans. The candidate was excited by the potential of the role but still needed significant advice and support in terms of committing to a move, after two decades in her existing firm.
Consulting Point was able to provide significant knowledge on the options for the candidate and talked her through the benefits of moving to a more agile environment, something which resonated well. The offer presented was based off market data and trends in the region, supplied by Consulting Point, resulting in a fair and compelling offer being presented by the client. The process has resulted in a challenger brand within the consulting sector in the Middle East acquiring a highly experienced Partner who possesses a strong local network. This development will support further growth in the future and enable the continued expansion of our clients’ presence in the region.
