Position: Senior Consultant, Cloud FinOps
Location: London
Salary: £75,000
Assignment Timescale: 6 weeks
Result: Completed
Context:
As organisations place tighter scrutiny on cloud spend, governance and sustainability, demand has risen for Cloud FinOps specialists who can connect engineering decisions with financial control and long-term value realisation.
Challenge:
A global professional services organisation needed a Cloud FinOps practitioner who could combine hands-on cloud cost optimisation with governance design, financial reporting and credible engagement with senior business and technology stakeholders. Profiles with practical delivery depth, strong AWS exposure and recognised Cloud FinOps credentials were limited.
Solution:
Consulting Point introduced a candidate with more than 11 years of engineering and cloud experience, including current responsibility for FinOps delivery, Cloudability rollout, chargeback and showback reporting, anomaly detection, rightsizing and AWS cost governance. The candidate also brought recognised FinOps certification and a track record of working across distributed stakeholder groups on large-scale platform and cloud initiatives.
Outcome:
The candidate moved successfully through the process and accepted a permanent appointment. The hire gave the client added capability in a growing area of cloud economics, while providing the candidate with a clear step into a dedicated Cloud FinOps Consultant role aligned to their recent experience and technical strengths.
