FTI Consulting, announced the continued growth of its South African practice with the addition of a team of eight experts from Econex, a leading trade, competition and applied economics consultancy firm. The team will be led in Cape Town by Professor Nicola Theron, a Senior Managing Director who previously served as Econex’s Managing Director.


In addition, Dr Liberty Mncube, former Chief Economist at the Competition Commission and Professor of Economics at the University of Stellenbosch and the University of the Witwatersrand, will join as a Managing Director to lead the team in Johannesburg.

The addition of these experts significantly strengthens the range of economic consulting services FTI Consulting offers clients across the region, including economic studies, competition analysis, regulatory reviews, public policy, valuations, damages assessment and expert witness appointments. They will also work closely alongside the firm’s experts in strategic communications, corporate finance, forensic technology and financial investigations to offer clients an unparalleled combination of advice and expertise.
