The Big Four firm has appointed eight new partners across its business in Ireland as it warns of a “volatile global economic landscape”

The consulting practice has appointed Yvonne Byrne, Ciaran McGovern and Ruairí Mitchell as well as two in tax practice, namely Matthew Dolan and Vincent McCullagh.

Brian Fennelly was appointed as a partner in the financial advisory practice, John Kehoe as a partner in audit and assurance and Laura Wadding in risk advisory.

The newly appointed CEO of Deloitte Ireland, Harry Goddard, said that he was “delighted” that his first act as incoming CEO was in announcing the new appointments.

“It’s a time of great change, with a volatile global economic landscape, technological disruption and regulatory scrutiny facing many of our clients,” Goddard said.

Goddard, who has recently succeeded Brendan Jennings, said he was confident of the new partners’ ability to “capitalise on the opportunities that do exist in the current landscape”.

Yesterday, Deloitte UK announced its first ever female UK managing partner of consulting, Anne-Marie Malley who will take over from Richard Houston after he stepped into the role of chief executive of Deloitte North and South Europe (NSE) and the UK.

Deloitte NSE – formerly Deloitte North West Europe – recently appointed 161 people to partner including 78 in the UK, 32 of whom are women, as part of a regional expansion.
