After seven years at Accenture, Markus Zimmermann has returned to Oliver Wyman as a Partner and Global Service Line Leader.

In his new role, Zimmermann will lead the Performance Transformation service line within the Insurance & Asset Management industry group on a global scale.

I’m really looking forward to shaping the future of our industries together,” said Zimmermann on his new appointment.

He brings more than 25 years of industry experience to Oliver Wyman and his new position. Zimmermann began his career at Allianz, gaining deep insight into the inner workings of the insurance sector.

In 2007, he transitioned into management consulting, spending almost eleven years at Oliver Wyman, where he rose to Partner and led the Insurance practice in the DACH region. He later joined Accenture, taking on several leadership roles, most recently serving as EMEA Lead for Insurance Strategy.

Throughout his career, Zimmermann has advised numerous insurance and financial services companies across Germany, Europe, and internationally. His expertise spans strategy and business model transformation, operating model design, and initiatives involving digitalisation, data management, and artificial intelligence. He has also played key roles in various mergers and restructuring projects within the industry.
