Proxima, Bain & Company’s procurement consultancy arm, is launching operations in Australia and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region through the integration of ArcBlue.

The two firms will operate under the Proxima name and leadership structure, creating a unified delivery platform with more than 1,000 procurement specialists across three continents.

The integration allows Proxima to offer global clients a streamlined procurement consultancy built around delivery scale, local market knowledge and full lifecycle support. It brings together ArcBlue’s regional experience with Proxima’s international model, marking the next phase of Bain’s procurement expansion strategy.

“This is an exciting moment for ArcBlue, Proxima and for procurement consulting in the region,” says Daniel Collings, Executive Vice President at Proxima APAC.

“We’re not just expanding geographically; we’re creating something truly exciting by bringing together Proxima’s proven global methodologies with ArcBlue’s exceptional local expertise and client relationships.”

A unified delivery model

ArcBlue, established in 2013, runs operations across multiple APAC countries and now serves as the regional base for Proxima. Melbourne and Singapore are set to act as the primary hubs in APAC, joining Proxima’s existing offices in London, Chicago and Düsseldorf.

These five locations now form the consultancy’s core delivery centres for global procurement engagements.

Both ArcBlue and Proxima come under Bain & Company’s ownership following acquisitions in 2022. The consultancy group continues to develop a single delivery structure that combines strategy development with hands-on execution. That approach supports clients from idea generation through to delivery, enabling them to unlock value across procurement functions.

Proxima’s model integrates practitioner consultants, built-out knowledge infrastructure and structured client service frameworks. This allows for consistent delivery and industry-specific insight across diverse operating environments. The inclusion of ArcBlue’s on-the-ground knowledge in APAC strengthens the firm’s ability to advise regional and multinational clients alike.

Simon Geale, Chief Procurement Officer at Proxima, adds: “Landing in APAC has long been an ambition for Proxima. Doing so in partnership with ArcBlue and Bain is the perfect springboard for our next chapter.

“We’ve seen incredible demand for our services this last year and I’m really excited by what lies ahead for our new colleagues and future clients. Procurement has never been more strategic for businesses and consulting teams. Procurement teams should be bold in redefining the value that we offer and deliver."

Responding to evolving procurement needs

The move into APAC follows client demand across the region for consultancies that can balance local insight with international capability.

The market continues to shift, with procurement positioned as a core business function that extends far beyond cost control. Strategic procurement increasingly supports outcomes in sustainability, digital transformation and operational resilience.

Proxima’s integration with ArcBlue aligns with these shifts by giving organisations access to a partner that understands regional markets but also delivers globally standardised outcomes. The consultancy provides tools and methods that respond to both boardroom expectations and operational realities.

Procurement's visibility within corporate structures increases as global supply chains remain under pressure. From supplier management to ESG compliance, procurement teams are expected to deliver outcomes that influence performance across business units.

The expanded Proxima business brings structure to these challenges. With its unified model, the firm delivers procurement consultancy that scales while adapting to regional differences. For multinational organisations, this creates consistency in delivery while still acknowledging the complexity of local supply chain dynamics.

Building relevance across global markets

ArcBlue’s presence across APAC gives the expanded Proxima business a foundation rooted in regional understanding. Its longstanding client relationships and in-market teams provide a depth of experience that complements Proxima’s structured methodology.

This blend of global model and local insight increases Bain’s consulting relevance in the procurement space, while strengthening its positioning not just as a strategic advisor but as a hands-on partner with operational delivery capability.

With operations now running across Europe, APAC and North America, Proxima is well-placed to support clients through both disruption and transformation.

As global procurement expectations continue to rise, its expanded platform stands ready to meet growing demand for delivery at scale with market-specific precision.
