Deloitte is set to welcome 1,400 new people to its award-winning graduate, BrightStart, apprenticeship and industrial placement programmes this week in 17 locations across the UK*. A further 98 are due to join the firm in December. This is in line with Deloitte’s 2024 intake, when over 1,400 people joined the firm’s programmes.

The new joiners, of which 43% will be based outside of London, will take part in a firm-wide virtual induction into the world of professional services, in which they will be introduced to Deloitte's innovative GenAI platform, PairD, and participate in networking events with colleagues.

They will then participate in an in-person, technical induction tailored to their specific business areas. These include audit and assurance; tax and legal; and the firm’s consultative businesses - strategy, risk & transactions advisory; and technology & transformation.

This comes after Deloitte’s graduate programme was ranked fourth in the Times Top 100 Graduate Employer list for the fifth year running.

Jackie Henry, managing partner for people and purpose at Deloitte, said: "When I joined Deloitte as a graduate 36 years ago, little did I know of the incredible opportunities I would receive and journey I would go on during my time here. This is why I’m so excited to welcome the huge number of talented young people joining our firm this week.

“We’re always very proud of our graduates, apprentices and those on work placement at Deloitte. They bring a wealth of talent to our firm, demonstrating strong communication, adaptability, resilience, and analytical abilities which we value highly. I can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve as they start their careers with us.”

Clodagh McLaughlin, who has just completed her first year as a BrightStart apprentice in Deloitte’s technology & transformation consulting business in Belfast, described her first week at the firm in September 2024 as a supportive learning environment.

She said: "Starting at Deloitte, I was initially nervous about the transition from school. But the support and opportunities to connect with colleagues quickly put me at ease.

“My first year at Deloitte was a steep learning curve, but incredibly rewarding thanks to the nurturing environment and the friendships I've made. I've already had the pleasure of meeting many of the new joiners by offering them advice and answering questions – a testament to the ongoing support they'll receive from day one.”

Deloitte’s early careers programmes offer technical training opportunities and professional qualifications.
