A mandate was given to us by a long-standing client, a boutique consulting firm with a global remit in Life Sciences & Financial Services. They were looking to strengthen their Life Sciences leadership team through a number of strategic hires, with Consulting Point as their exclusive representative on this search. We put together a team to support this project and were able to highlight a number of highly suitable candidates, including a number being successfully placed.
In this case, Consulting Point had conversations with a significant number of people in our network and this candidate was clearly a strong fit. The candidate was not open to opportunities and initially wasn’t sure on the move to a boutique consulting firm, through several in depth conversations about the ambitions and growth plans of the firm, they decided it was worth an introductory call.
From the first conversation to the business case presentation in person, the candidate kept close contact with us and utilised our knowledge of the client to ensure he performed to his best. As the process developed, the candidate became more and more excited about the role and the proposition taking shape. By the time we were at business case presentation stage, the candidate was fully invested in the opportunity and eager to perform well. The business case they put together was so thorough and in line with the requirement, the head of the practice noted that they really had no choice but to extend an offer.
The offer process was smooth with any queries in the contract being ironed out quickly and with everyone agreeing, the salary expectations remained accurate throughout so the client knew what they needed to do to get the candidate onboard.
This is a key hire for the business to continue their global expansion and both sides were pleased with the outcome, allowing the Swiss practice to continue to grow.
