Challenge
A global consultancy firm was aiming to expand their Procurement offering within the DACH region, to do this they needed to strengthen the leadership team with a senior hire. A key requirement was to find an individual with a strong network and a positioning on the market to help them develop their footprint further.
Solution
Consulting Point have been working in the DACH region for over twenty years so were able to reach out to our existing network, with no need to search for active candidates. We quickly highlighted a number of individuals at various stages of their Partner career track, then shortlisting a handful of particularly strong options. The client was introduced to profiles that would not have been within the company’s active network reach, but competed with them actively in the market. This led to several highly interesting conversations, with one particular candidate bringing a greater depth of expertise in Procurement to cover both operational and technological applications. Through a series of meetings with the leadership team across DACH, Europe and globally, a business case was formed between the candidate and key members of the local practice.
Results
The candidate appreciated the company culture and approach of the client early on and remained highly invested in the process throughout, leading to them not engaging in any other competing processes. The client was able to take the time to properly get to know the candidate and work alongside them to form an appealing business case for the board, which was internally supported. Due to the strong relationship built up between the candidate, client and Consulting Point, the discussion around salaries was able to remain collaborative, rather than a back and forth negotiation. Both parties are looking forward to a successful future building out the Procurement function further in the DACH region and continuing to be a leading strategic partner for companies across Europe.
