Proudfoot has joined the global consulting network Nextcontinent as its newest ‘citizen’, strengthening Nextcontinent’s presence in the US and international markets while extending Proudfoot’s global reach.

With offices in the US, the UK and internationally, Proudfoot has been a recognized name in consulting for decades. By becoming part of Nextcontinent, it joins 12 other firms with a total of more than 3,000 management consultants working in 80 offices around the world.

“Proudfoot is a very well-known and established brand in the world of management consulting, especially in the operations and performance improvement domain within industrial and mining environments,” said François Pouzeratte, President and Chairman of Nextcontinent.

Proudfoot was established in 1946 by Alexander ‘Alec’ Proudfoot, who was a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago and a partner at McKinsey, who had a passion for truly translating strategy into action and measurable results. The firm quickly gained a reputation for its excellence in operations and being uniquely results-oriented, with Alexander Proudfoot taking a novel approach incorporating learning and teaching, while addressing the root cause of companies’ problems.

In the 1970s, the firm expanded to Brazil and Europe. Later in the 1980s, it also expanded widely from Mexico and West and Southern Africa to the Asia-Pacific region, opening new offices Singapore, Sydney, Taipei, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Kuala Lumpur.

The consulting firm has long focused on heavy industry, including mining, manufacturing, and oil & gas. Its modus operandi has been to raise the operational performance of client companies, working with the workforce at all levels. That includes improving the wellbeing of frontline workers.

Fast forward to today, and Proudfoot currently operates with five offices in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. A new leadership team is dedicated to scaling the business and taking it to new heights.

“Proudfoot is an 80-year-old firm with a unique heritage,” said Pouzeratte. “Their addition provides significant support for our new Mining & Building Materials practice because Proudfoot is exceptionally strong in those areas, as well as in the oil & gas sector. Proudfoot is a real asset to our network.”
